About TrueLifeCost

TrueLifeCost is an education site about how term life and final expense insurance are priced and structured. It is published by TrueLifeCost and written for people who want to understand a quote before they act on it.

We are not an insurance company, agency, or brokerage. We do not sell policies, we do not offer quotes, and we do not collect your information to hand to salespeople. The site does not provide quotes because an honest quote depends on your age, health, state, and underwriting, and pretending otherwise is how misleading premium tables get published.

Editorial standards

  • We explain cost structures, underwriting mechanics, and policy language in plain English, in the voice of people who have read the contracts.
  • We never publish premium tables or premium range estimates presented as facts. Worked numbers are labelled hypothetical illustrations, or they come from the quote worksheet you fill in yourself.
  • Context figures such as funeral costs or life expectancy context are used only when we can verify them against a named source, and we name the source and year beside the figure.
  • We do not predict underwriting outcomes. Nobody here will tell you that you will qualify for a class or a policy.

Corrections policy

If you find an error, email hello@truelifecost.com with the page address and what looks wrong. We review corrections, fix confirmed errors, and note material updates on the page. Education that cannot be corrected should not be trusted, and neither should we.

How the site is funded

The site may display advertising through Google AdSense in the future. Advertising does not change our editorial rule: no invented premiums, no fear-based selling, and warnings about graded benefits stay prominent on final expense pages.
